QUETTA (Dunya News) - An aftershock earthquake measuring 6 on Richter scale hit the Mashkel Tehsil of Washuk district of Balochistan located on the Pak-Iran border Wednesday morning.

It may be recalled that thirty-four people were killed and scores others were injured as powerful earthquake measuring 7.9 on Richter scale had hit Mashkel Tehsil at the Pak-Iran border on Tuesday. Strong tremors were felt in different parts of Pakistan, Iran, India and the Gulf countries.

According to officials of the seismic centre, the Tuesday’s earthquake was amongst the top three major earthquakes in the area. The magnitude-wise deadliest earthquake hit the area in 1905 which was measured 8 on the Richter scale.

The earthquake of May 1935 in which about 30,000 people perished, was recorded at 7.5 on the Richter scale.
