Imran Khan says Thana and Katchehry culture would be exterminated from the country.

LAHORE (Online): Another setback for Nawaz League as at least 67 former Nazims (Mayors) from Lahore, which was stronghold of PML-N, have joined Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf on Wednesday.

In a ceremony arranged in Lahore, Imran Khan vowed to introduce local body system and promised if PTI comes to power; his government would conduct local-government elections within 90 days.

Khan criticized the previous PPP and PML (N) governments for not holding local bodies’ elections.

“Pakistan is the only country where there is no local bodies system,” he said, adding instead of having improvements in the system introduced by former President Pervez Musharraf, they abolished the system.

He said that PTI is committed to putting in place local bodies system, adding that carrying out development work is the responsibility of local bodies.

Cricket-oriented politician said that ex-chief minister Shahbaz Sharif was in possession of more funds as compared to the prime minister but he did nothing for the sake of the province and the country.

He said that nowhere in the world members of Parliaments were given welfare funds; their functions are only legislation.
“If the PTI comes to power, it would introduce and promote reforms in the country”, said Khan.

Thana and Katchehry (Courts and police station) culture would be exterminated from the country, he vowed.

While quoting a Hadis, Imran said that the faithful can’t be deceived by the same trick twice, emphasizing that the conservative and corrupt politicians should not be elected in next general elections.

He vowed to introduce new development projects in the country if the PTI is given opportunity to sever the nation.

Imran Khan reiterated that his party would not enter into electoral alliance with anyone instead they will make alliance with the people of Pakistan.

Khan said that his party has decided to independently contest elections, adding his party will make alliance with the people of Pakistan.

He said that if comes to power they will introduce austerity measures and will stop all lavish spending by the previous governments.

Khan also urged overseas Pakistanis to take responsibility for development of 50,000 villages across the country.
