ET allows Sharifs to contest from NA-120, PP-161

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Dismissing the objections, the Election Tribunal (ET) of Lahore High Court (LHC) has allowed Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif to contest elections from NA-120 and PP-161 respectively.

Earlier, the court had reserved the verdict against the acceptance of nomination papers of Sharif brothers.



A tribunal comprising Justice Nasir Saeed Shaikh and Justice Shahid Wahid heard the appeals against the acceptance of nomination papers of PML-N’s leaders after Justice Imtiaz excused from holding the hearing.


Sohail Malik, opponent of PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif in constituency NA-120, had filed an appeal against acceptance of his nomination papers while appeal against former Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif had been filed by his opponent Rana Sajjad Afzal in constituency PP-161.
