The Lahore High Court has permitted Faisal Saleh Hayat and Abid Imam to contest polls from NA 87.

MULTAN (Dunya News):-While setting aside the judgment of returning officer, the Lahore High Court Multan bench has allowed Faisal Saleh Hayat and Abid Imam to take part in general elections from NA 87.

Ex-president Pervez Musharraf has also challenged the decision of returning officer after rejection of his nomination papers from Kasur.

According to Dunya News, Pervez Musharraf is of the view that he undoubtedly meets the criteria of Article 62 and 63, so his nomination should be accepted accordingly.

It is worth mentioning that at least 100 out of 243 candidates have filed appeals in High Court after their nomination papers were rejected by the returning officers.

Two-member bench of Balochistan High Court Election Tribunal comprising Justice Naeem Afghan and Justice Muhammad Hashim would conduct hearing of nomination papers of 40 candidates whose papers have been rejected already.

On the other hand, the Lahore High Court has declared independent candidate Rae Jahangir Ali Kharl from Pindi Bhatian PP 106 eligible for contesting polls.

Kharl’s nomination papers had been rejected by the retuning officer as he was unable to meet the criteria set by Article 62 and 63 of the Constitution.
