Karachi police foil terror plot to target hospital

KARACHI: Police claimed to have thwarted a major plot to bomb Abbasi Shaheed Hospital in Karachi, SAMAA reported on Sunday.

According to details, CID police raided an isolated place in Sarjani Town on the identification of an already arrested terror suspect.

Terrorists opened fire, injuring ASI Khalid Saeed, Head Constable Punnu and Gul Aslam, alleged mastermind of Abbas Town attacks. They were shifted to Civil Hospital, where accused Gul Aslam died of wounds.






After a shootout which continued for more than one and a half hour, two terrorists managed to flee while one was apprehended. An explosive-laden vehicle was seized after the operation.

Inspector Adil says that terrorists wanted to use this vehicle to attack Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad praised the CID team and announced a cash prize of Rs2 million. – SAMAA
