MQM not to quit electoral race despite hurdles: Altaf

MQM chief says his party is not being allowed to launch its campaign with free will.


KARACHI/LONDON (Dunya News): While announcing names of MQM candidates in a ceremony in Karachi on Saturday, he said in his telephonic address that some negative elements are hatching conspiracies against in order to steer the party out of the elections.

He added political workers and activists of the MQM are being targeted and assassinated in order to halt the caravan of liberal party.

“If rival forces want to face the MQM, they should use their democratic right rather than targeting its workers”, said Altaf.

He said that political parties should recognize each other’s mandate.

He made it clear that the MQM’s 221 candidates would take part in general elections across the country.
