The IHC has taken notice of Musharraf’s escape from the court and summoned IG Islamabad.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Taking notice of former president Pervez Musharraf’s escape from the premises of the court, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has summoned Inspector General Police Islamabad.
Former president Pervez Musharraf appeared in the IHC on Thursday to seek extension in bail in judges’ confinement case. However, his plea for bail extension was dismissed. During proceedings of the case, Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui remarked that Musharraf was accused of destroying the judicial system. The court ordered that the charge of terrorism be added in the case.
Pervez Musharraf immediately left the court and drove to his farmhouse in Chak Shahzad escorted by his security personnel.
Taking notice of Musharraf’s fleeing from the court premises, the IHC has summoned Inspector General Police Islamabad. The court also said that Musharraf’s fleeing was a separate crime.
