SC to resume hearing of treason petitions against Musharraf

A three-member SC bench will resume hearing of treason petitions against Pervez Musharraf today.


ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The three-member bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Justice Jawwad S Khawaja, will today (Monday) resume hearing of petitions seeking initiation of a high treason case against former president Pervez Musharraf.

Pervez Musharraf’s lawyer Ibrahim Satti will continue his arguments in the case. During previous hearings of the case the counsel of former president had also filed an application for constitution of the full court in this regard.

Meanwhile, a three-member bench, headed by the Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, will resume hearing the matter relating to permission to overseas Pakistanis to cast vote in the upcoming general elections.

During previous hearing, the Supreme Court had granted last opportunity to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to make voting arrangements for overseas Pakistanis.
