Gang leader involved in Ali Haider Gilani's kidnapping arrested

Ex-PML Gilani's son was kidnapped on May 9 by unidentified gunmen.


NOWSHERA (Dunya News) - Leader of the gang involved in the kidnapping of Ali Haider Gilani was captured while fleeing to Afghanistan, Dunya News reported on Friday.

Intelligence agencies during an operation arrested the key suspect along with his accomplice from Pak-Afghan border area.

The suspect was shifted to undisclosed location for interrogation.

Earlier on Thursday, Nowshera police conducted an operation in Misri Banda area of Akora Khatak to recover Ali Haider Gilani, son of former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, who was kidnapped by unidentified gunmen from Multan on May 9, and rescued a hostage.

The rescued individual named Abdul Wahab told police that the son of former prime minister was held captive with him but the abductors moved him elsewhere few days ago.

Four other men and two women were arrested during operation.
