MQM is observing a day of mourning across Sindh against killing of its workers in bomb blasts.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Life in the city came to a virtual standstill on Sunday, with most public transport vehicles remaining off the roads and businesses remaining shut in the wake of a call for a `day of mourning` after blasts hit MQM office.
Major business centres and markets remained closed as traders observed the day of mourning. A large number of petrol pumps were also shut.
Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) late on Saturday announced to observe day of mourning across Sindh today against the deadly bomb attacks in Azizabad area of Karachi on Saturday in which three people were killed and 35 others sustained injuries.
The MQM coordination committee had appealed transporters to keep their vehicles off the road and also asked the traders to keep their businesses shut today.
Meanwhile, Karachi Transport Ittehad has announced to support the strike.
