Six killed, 25 injured in blast at JUI-F rally in Kurram

The explosion took place at JUI-F candidate Munir Orakzai's rally.


KURRAM AGENCY (Dunya News) - An explosion at political rally of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) killed at least six people and injured several others.

The blast took place during rally of JUI-F candidate Munir Orakzai in Makhrani valley of Kurram Agency.

"At least six people have been killed in the blast," hospital source confirmed.  However, Munir Orakzai survived the attack.

Munir Orakzai is constesting elections from NA-38 constituency in Kurram Agency.

Violence has risen sharply before the vote with more than 60 people killed in direct attacks on politicians and political parties since April 11.

No one immediately claimed responsibility for today's attack.
