Meanwhile, the electricity shortfall has reached 4,800 MW.

Power loadshedding has affected domestic life to a great extent. Women are facing numerous problems in carrying out domestic chores. Meanwhile, the traders and business outlets are irked by the disproportionate hugh duration of power outages.

Citizens said that load shedding had been increased since last week that has disturbed their routine works.
In Lahore, the masses are facing up to 12-16 hours of loadshedding. Similar situation is witnessed in Faisalabad where residents are bearing 18-22 hours of loadshedding.

Meanwhile, the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) tightened the security near grid stations following several protests against the unscheduled load shedding. The citizens chanted slogans against WAPDA and government during protests in different cities.

However, the wapda official has said that gas supply to Uch powerhouse has been resumed and 675MW will be soon added to the system.
