ANP candidate Sadiq Khattak, son killed in Karachi

More than 60 people including several political members have been killed since April 11.


KARACHI (Dunya News) - Awami National Party (ANP) candidate from NA-254 constituency was killed in a shooting incident in Korangi s Bilal Colony area on Friday.

Unknown gunmen riding on motorcycles opened fire on Sadiq Zaman Khattak outside a mosque located in the area.

Khattak s 6-year-old son was also killed in the incident..

"Sadiq Khattak was contesting election from NA-254 constituency" party s provincial secretary told.

Violence has spiked in the country ahead of national elections on May 11, with at least 61 people killed in attacks on politicians and political parties since April 11, according to an AFP tally.
