Army Chief reviews security plan ahead of election

Army chief stressed the need for implementing an integrated and well-coordinated security plan.


LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani presided over a high-level session regarding upcoming general elections scheduled for May 11.

The meeting reviewed the security plans for elections. Several high officials including senior army officers, DG Rangers, Punjab Election Commissioner, Home Secretary and IG Punjab attended the session while officials gave briefing regarding their department’s security arrangements during the elections.

Earlier, COAS Kayani stressed the need for implementing an integrated and well-coordinated security plan to ensure peaceful elections across the country.
