Murad Ali Shah was contesting elections from PS-73 Dadu constituency.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Supreme Court on Thursday issued an order to prevent PPP candidate Murad Ali Shah from contesting upcoming polls on the ground that he holds dual nationality.

A three member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard the dual-nationality case.

During case proceeding, the apex court declared that Murad Ali Shah did not submit any certificate regarding relinquishment of his Canadian nationality.

Earlier, the Sindh High Court had allowed Murad Ali Shah to contest elections despite rejection of his nomination papers by the Returning Officer and Election Tribunal.
